The back cover has black text with more info about the book under a bright yellow headline.

Prestel said yes, go ahead and share, so here’s the North American edition cover for The Manga Bible,  available for pre-order now in the USA and Canada.   It’ll be out in March 2026. The North American ISBN is 978-3-7913-9395-7.

Notice the Baron Yoshimoto art on the cover? I love that! One of my favourite illustrators and mangaka – it’s an honour to have his work on the cover of my book.

When you pre-order a book, it does many good things for both author and publisher. It helps the publisher to predict demand for the first print run. It starts to generate a buzz around the book and build momentum. It makes manga and manga scholarship more visible. It makes me as the author more visible to booksellers, the media and potential readers, helping me to get interviews on social media, podcasts and in mainstream press. Good pre-order numbers open doors for the book before it’s even printed.

You can pre-order in the UK as well, and I’ll post links to other territories as I get the go-ahead from local publishers.

You can also ask your public or college library to pre-order for their collection. In a number of countries, this means that not only does the author get royalties from that one sale, but every time the book is checked out there’s another payment. And every time someone makes a photocopy from it, more money comes to the author. So if your country has such a scheme you can funnel money to your favourite authors just by checking out a book or making a photocopy on the library copier.
